Mind Your Game
Delivered by Squid Esports
A structured wellbeing curriculum designed to support healthy gaming habits and emotional resilience
About the Program
At Squid Esports, we work with educational institutions and youth organisations to support healthy gaming habits without asking students to stop gaming.
Mind Your Game, developed by Squid Academy and delivered locally by our team, is a structured wellbeing program designed for learners aged 12 to 24. It addresses the realities of modern screen time, competitive pressure, and digital stress in a way that is practical and relatable.
The program does not frame gaming as a problem. Instead, it teaches students how to manage their play responsibly, understand how gaming affects the brain and body, and develop routines that support both performance and wellbeing.

Across the curriculum, students explore:
- The science of attention, motivation, and dopamine
- How habits form and how to reset unhealthy patterns
- Emotional regulation and stress management
- Sleep, recovery, and performance balance
- Responsible online behaviour and digital identity
The goal is not restriction. It is awareness, self-control, and balance.
For institutions, this means a structured wellbeing program that speaks the language of gamers while remaining academically appropriate and suitable for formal educational settings.
As Squid Academy's exclusive partner, we work directly with institutions to ensure Mind Your Game aligns with local policies, student age groups, and existing wellbeing frameworks.

Squid Esports PodCurriculum & Structure
Mind Your Game is delivered as a structured, modular wellbeing curriculum that can be implemented within schools, colleges, universities, esports programs, or youth organisations.
The program is organised into guided modules that build progressively from awareness to practical habit formation. Each module focuses on a specific theme related to gaming behaviour, performance, and balance.
Core Curriculum Areas
Across the program, students engage with topics such as:
The Gamer Brain
Understanding attention, dopamine cycles, flow states, and how games are designed to capture engagement.
Habits & Compulsion
Recognising early signs of unhealthy patterns and learning how to reset routines without abandoning gaming.
Emotional Regulation
Managing tilt, frustration, pressure, and competitive stress in constructive ways.
Sleep, Recovery & Physical Health
Developing routines that support both academic performance and gaming performance.
Digital Identity & Responsibility
Understanding online behaviour, communication, and long-term reputation.
Game–Life Balance Planning
Creating a personal, realistic plan for balancing gaming with study, family, and wellbeing.

How It Runs

The program follows a consistent structure:
- A short, expert-led video introduction
- Guided reflection and discussion
- Practical exercises and habit-building tasks
- Optional written or worksheet-based outputs
Institutions can deliver the program weekly, intensively over a short term, or integrate selected modules into existing wellbeing or esports pathways.
The structure ensures that discussions about gaming remain practical, constructive, and measurable rather than abstract or moralistic.
For institutions, this provides a clear, teachable framework for addressing gaming wellbeing in a way that resonates with students and remains aligned with educational expectations.
Delivery & Implementation
At Squid Esports, we support institutions in implementing Mind Your Game in a way that fits their existing structure and student needs.
The program is designed to integrate into formal timetables, esports programs, wellbeing initiatives, or advisory sessions. It does not require specialist psychological training from staff.
Structured, Platform-Supported Delivery
Mind Your Game is delivered through Squid Academy's Learning Management System (LMS), which provides:
- Structured access to expert-led video modules
- Teaching guidance and session outlines
- Reflection worksheets and discussion prompts
- Assessment and tracking tools where required
This ensures consistency while allowing educators to contextualise delivery for their own learners.
For institutions that prefer offline delivery, materials can be adapted for printable or classroom-based use.

Role of Educators
Educators act as facilitators. They:
- Guide discussion and reflection
- Monitor student participation
- Support students in applying habit changes
- Maintain alignment with institutional wellbeing policies
The program is built to support educators, not replace them.
Local Support
As Squid Academy's exclusive partner, we provide:
- Program onboarding and rollout planning
- Implementation guidance for different age groups
- Integration support alongside esports or academic programs
- Ongoing operational assistance
This ensures that discussions around gaming wellbeing are structured, age-appropriate, and aligned with local expectations.
Note: The program is educational in nature and does not replace professional psychological services.
